Foundation Phase (Grade 1 to 3)

We follow the National CAPS curriculum and in addition each learner’s curriculum is supported by an Individual Educational Developmental Plan (IEDP) that focus and support behaviour, social integration and academics. All our classes offer teaching in both English and Afrikaans.

The smaller classes make one on one support possible. The teacher is able to focus not only on the curriculum but also intervention. The amended school time allows for sensory and brain breaks throughout the day ensuring that optimal learning can take place.

This phase includes four compulsory subjects:

  • Home Language
  • First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Life Skills

The special kinetics programme focuses on gross motor development and how it integrates into academics.
